Townscrapper – Pretty Card – Plus Copic CANDY!!

Hello all, hope you have some great plans for the weekend that involves some crafting!

I am hoping to make some time to start turning all my coloured images into cards. I have at least 10 ready to go. hehehe I might just have to start posting my coloured images and sharing how I coloured them. Sometimes I feel like a BIG 7 year old colouring in a colouring book desperately trying not to go outside the lines. lol

What’s Hot at The Townscrapper

First off I wanted to tell you what’s happening over at The Townscrapper. The last couple of weeks we have had a huge 2 week hop and we were so happy with the response. We are glad you all loved the images exclusive to The Townscrapper by Victoria Case.

This week we are back to our Friday challenges and our lovely Scrapette Ann has created a great sketch for you to follow. Head on over to check out what all the Scrapettes have put together for some inspiration!

We have a very exciting month ahead at The Townscrapper with some amazing guests so you do NOT want to miss out on anything!

Little creation to share

I made this card about a week ago but haven’t had a chance to share it with you. This is Zoe’s Bunny designed by Crissy Armstrong available at BunnyZoesCrafts.  My good friend Maria sent me the stamped image on Neenah card stock for me to play with.

I have used the gorgeous Basic Grey paper, and I love this Prima flower (the texture is so nice) and a doily, lave and ribbon from my stash.

I decided to practice with facial features to define the nose a little better. After some practice I am quite happy with the result in this image.

I only had 2 purple markers so to create the light purple on the bunny I laid down a layer of blender before lightly adding some purple. Then I used the blender again to push the purple to the edges.

I am not sure I like Neenah c/s as much as some others. However I have heard that people have been having some problems with certain batches.

MY BIG NEWS CANDY!!

Just an update on the candy. I am thrilled with the response so far. The comments are just wonderful and I am blushing. I thank you all so much. Thank you for taking the time to post about my candy on your blogs. I truly appreciate you taking the time to spread the word for me.

For those that have become followers. THANK YOU! I hope I don’t disappoint. :)

People without Blogs Update

I realised I have made a mistake as one of my followers who commented doesn’t have a blog. I want this candy to be open to everyone. So those that do NOT have a blog will still be entered into the draw. However to help me spread the word, if you are a REGULAR member of a group and not going against policies you might want to share my big news candy or you might have a friend you think will be interested in my site that you can contact.

Just make mention that you don’t have a blog when you comment and if you have spread the word by other means I would love to know.

Check out my BIG News Candy Post Here.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Take care and hugs,

Zoe xxoo

Copic Colour Challenges – Black Hair, green, pink & purple

I finally added some new colours to my collection this week and as I mentioned in an earlier post, I am so caught up in colouring that I don’t get around to making the cards. However this time I decided to take on some copic marker challenges.

My green (YG03),  pink (R81) and purple (V12) were the closest colours I had for the challenge over at ‘Copic Colour Challenge‘ who are challenging us to use YG00, RV13 & V91. I found it a good mix of colours and not often colours I would grab to throw together so thanks for the nudge girls. :)

I did of course add additional colours for highlights and shading.

I also followed the challenge over at ‘Copic Creations‘ who are challenging us to Copic Black Hair Coloring.

I used my first ever Kraftin’ Kimmie stamp. I find these to be so quirky and couldn’t wait to get my hands on one when I first saw them.

I decided to try something different with the background today and took the colours from the outfit and created a ‘star burst’. Using a ruler I lightly flicked along the edge of the ruler to get the straight feathered lines. I was reasonably happy with the result. :)

With the colours quite vibrant, I ended up creating a bolder card than normal. I must admit I had been hanging out for a reason to use these papers from KaiserCraft. I was obviously feeling bold the day I bought them! hehehe

To tie in her old fashioned clothes with the funky paper and bold colours I added an old fashioned looking brad and hung a cute bag charm given to me by my friend Maria to fit in with the charm challenge over at Stamp Something this week.

I hope you have enjoyed my bold creation today!

Take care and thanks for stopping by.

Recipe Challenge at Karen’s Doodles!

Don’t we all love recipes? Especially the ones you can eat afterwards. teehee

This week at Karen’s Doodles we have a fun recipe for you to follow; 2 patterned papers, 1 ribbon, 3 brads/gems and a border (extras are allowed).  The border is up to your interpretation; it can be a border punch or a border around the image.

I wanted to play with the cute image ‘On the beach‘ this week. I just love the three stooges playing on the beach. An unlikely bunch, but definitely best buddies!

I used Basic Grey papers, bordered with cordinations c/s. The image was coloured with Copics (sorry didn’t keep track of colours – trying to get better at doing this!) on GinaK c/s. The sentiment was a rub-on from Kaisercraft.

Here is a close up of the three friends. :) I tried to add small granules to the sand but they didn’t quite work out using the original markers. I am sure it will be easier with a brush tip.

I would like to share this project with the following two sites:

  1. Stamp Something – Something Layered (Sponsored by Karen’s Doodles this week!)
  2. The Secret Crafter – A Day Out

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

The Townscrapper – Sneak Peak – Boy Card

Hope you are having a lovely weekend! I am VERY late posting this week. I have had an extremely busy week but I wanted to post this card to share with you a super funky stamp that will be released by The Townscrapper sometime next month. Exclusively designed by Victoria Case.

This is ‘Moe’. I just think he is perfect for boys! This is the first time I have used these colours for skin and I am not sure how well I went. They are not the ‘usual’ colours used for dark coloured skin so I added a creamy colour over the top to add some warmth.

I am not sure what I was thinking when I added the ribbon bow now that I look at it. hehehe

I used cosmo cricket paper, sisal ribbon for some texture and a paper pin from my stash.

Copic Colours used:

Skin: E43,44,47 with YR21
Hair: E53, 55, 57, E29, 100
T-shirt: R24, R29
Pants: B34, B41
Shoes: R29, 100, N3
Books: Y26, N3
Skateboard: Y17, G14, YG11, E02

Last week we had a drive for Autism awareness month and we were donating $6 for every card submitted to the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Thank you to everyone who submitted a design as we raised $140 plus we also received requests from more to add to the donation. We are ecstatic. So Thank you!

This Friday we do not have a challenge set because this coming Monday we are having a Blog Hop!! Make sure you stop by The Townscrapper to find out all the details on Monday.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs!
