After searching for my favourite paper to use with Copic Markers I finally found my favourite.
ALL my images are now coloured on Make it Colour blending paper.
I have been receiving a number of questions about my folds and pleats that I didn’t really explain very well in my last videos on fold and pleats. So with the challenge of Pleats & Folds this week at Make it Colourful, I decided to make another video trying to explain it a little easier. Hopefully I have!!
Here’s the Video!
If you have trouble viewing it here you can see it on YouTube
Here is a close up of the final image. :)
This stamp is Tilda with Watering Can She has a nice simple straight dress which is perfect for praticing folds in clothing. :)
Ignore her hair – not sure what I was doing there! :P

I hope you are well. I am about to head to bed but wanted to quickly post this video I finally uploaded yesterday before I head off.
I am exhausted having spent the day painting our new work space, after DH told me it would only take a couple of hours. I figured I better help or I might find myself replaced pretty soon! Unfortunately two hours turned into SEVEN hours. Yup, not too easy painting primer on dry board!! LOL – oh well – at least I still have a bed to sleep in tonight! :)
OK so on with the video. This is a pure EXPERIMENTATION video. I was just playing around and VERY unsure of the outcome. I created it to see if I could make something to help with the challenge this week at Make it Colourful. The challenge is to reflect the surrounding colours onto your main subject.
Here is the video I created.
It goes FOREVER so please do not feel obliged to sit through it all.
PLUS I am quite the goof and you may find yourself chuckling when I begin humming or even whispering. I guess it offers a little insight to the crazy mind you are dealing with here. :)
So just beware, before you hit that play button, that I had the chatterbox syndrome! hehee
I don’t have a project per se to share, however I do have VIDEOS! That’s right, I succumbed to the pressure and in the wee hours of this morning I began colouring Edwin with his vest and pants again to show you just how I did it. :)
I am a little tired so I am not going to waffle on in my typing. You can just sit back and listen to me blabber away as I colour. heehee
I am pretty sure it will get boring so feel free to pause, jump forward and attempt to find any juicy bits of info you can sneak away with. Oh and if you are practising your fold and creases etc I would like to see the results! Pwetty pwease!
I have broken it up into 3 videos.
Colouring Edwins Face & Hands
Colouring Edwins Vest
Colouring Edwins Pants
If you can’t play these videos just head on over to my Youtube Channel
If you make it through all three videos – Congratulations! heehee
Please let me know what you think and if I get the thumbs up I will try to make more on a bit more of a regular basis.
Give me some ideas of what you would like to see!!
Thanks for stopping by, I am trying to get a project finished to share with you soon.
I needed to colour an image today for an upcoming project (so yes you get a sneak peek. heehee) and I had the idea to just video the whole process and see how it turned out. Most of my previous videos have me rushing my colouring to beat the time so you don’t really get to see my natural colouring style.
So a 1 1/2 hours later it was rather obvious you wouldn’t want to sit around watching every detail so I decided to speed up the process and managed to cut it down to 20 minutes across two videos.
The image is ‘Little Christmas Angel’ illustrated by Crissy Armstrong. I thought this would be a great image to show you my process of colouring folds. I have attempted to narrate over the top but sometimes got the colours wrong.
Unfortunately the video camera completely over-saturated the reds in the image however at the end of the second video I show a scanned version where the colours are closer to real life.
I would love your feedback on this style of video and if you like it I will be happy to do more like this. Would prefer not having to talk though. heehee :)
I am very excited to announce that Make it Crafty is sponsoring Copic Creations for their current challenge no38! There are two challenges you can choose from or even combine!
One is colouring with browns and the other (my favourite of course!!) Creating a Scene!
I have offered the winner a set of 3 Copic Ciao markers (one of my fav brown combinations E43, E47 & E49) PLUS the winners choice of any three of my digi stamps!
I have been so busy that I asked Mag if she had time to help me out and join the lovely ladies as a guest. Check out the scene she created with the ‘Open Window‘ and of course the gorgeous Magnolias Tilda and Edwin!
Mag doesn’t know but I love Edwin’s socks the most. hahaha It looks like he is hiding the fact that he is really an elf hidden under there but his socks reveal all! Yes my imagination can be whacky at times! Also thought using material for the curtains was such a unique and super creative idea. :)
Now I have to HIGHLY recommend you pop on over to see the absolutely AMAZING cards the fabulous team at Copic Creations have created using the make it Crafty images. I can promise you, you will find your jaw hanging low. :)
Check out the AWESOME INSPIRATION
If you haven’t been there before and you love copics then this is definitely one challenge site to bookmark!
I had hoped to have a video ready in time for the challenge posting but unfortunately the first video had me waffling on for about 30 minutes and was definitely way too boring. Then I tried again with notes and I had a bunch of bloopers. FINALLY I decided to cut it short and just concentrate on one thing!!
So here is a ‘quicker’ video on colouring the background of the digi stamp ‘Forest Flower‘
Hope you pick up a little tip or two to walk away with. :)
I hope you are having a good week so far. This is just a quick post to share with you a video I recently created.
I created a video to share with you all on how to use your Make it Crafty digi stamps in MS Word. There are also some tips on how to use digi stamps in general in the first part of the video too.
After lots of questions I finally made a video showing how I add additional depth using grey markers. To really show you the full effect I started with a very flat image colouring each section with only one tone. Normally I would colour the image with my light source in mind before finally adding the grey.
Here is a before and after image (so you can decide if you want to sit there for the next 10 minutes. heehee Might need a hot cuppa!)
Well after creating my first video I thought it can’t be much worse to create two!
It seems I started to calm down a little more in this video and began to ‘talk’ a little more. Please excuse my ramblings. hee hee
I thought I would share how I blended my orange and yellow markers on the balloon in this card.
As mentioned in my previous post. I am new to Copic markers and so I am in no way an expert and I am not copic certified. I am jsut sharing my personal experiences with copic markers.
The markers I am using in this video are the ‘Original’ copic markers. I didn’t have access to ‘Sketch’ markers when I first started buying a few colours here and there. I actually started with about 6 colours. My two main skin tones, a dark blue, light blue, light green and a pink. At the time I would blend the pink and light blue to make a light purple and so on. That’s the beauty of copic markers.
I hope this helps some of you who are thinking about trying copic markers but the price scares you away. With this technique you can start out small and buy more as you can afford them.
The recipe for this video is:
Y17 and YR07
Angelina’s Balloon digital stamp from Mo Manning
Gina K Pure Luxury card stock
Blending Yellow and Orange Copic Markers
I would love to hear if you gained something from my video and if you tried the technique I use, I would love to see your creation. Please link here in the comments or send it to me privately via the contact form on the right.
Setting my self consciousness aside… I am actually posting this!
Tonight I thought I would create a couple of videos showing how I blend with my copic markers. My technique seems to be a little different to others which you will hear me repeat in my video – so nervous! I usually blend with two colours to create the tones I am after. This allowed me to start with just a few colours on a small budget.
My colouring background is pencils and watercolours so I think my technique is a mixture of the two. My copic markers are the ‘Original’ markers as these are what I had access to when I first started to collect them. The sketch markers with the super brush tip certainly look easier to use however I am yet to try them.
Please note:I have only been using Copic Markers for approx 6 weeks so I am in no way an expert. Just sharing my experience so far. I hope you find something useful that you can take away and play with.
I would love to hear if you gained something from my video and if you tried the technique I use, I would love to see your creation. Please link here in the comments or send it to me privately via the contact form on the right.
